Welcome to Jacyn Press Inc! The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Jacyn Press Inc. We operate this website and online store, including all related information, content, features, tools, and services (collectively, the “Services”). Our Store is powered by Shopify, which enables us to offer a secure online shopping experience.

Jacyn Press Inc is a not-for-profit independent publisher dedicated to elevating diverse voices and giving books a second life through our re-lifed book program. When you shop with us, you support both new literary work and sustainable book reuse.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) explain your rights and responsibilities when accessing or using the Services. Please read them carefully, as they include important information about warranties, returns, and limitations of liability.

By visiting, interacting with, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Services.

SECTION 1 — ACCESS AND ACCOUNT

By using the Services, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your place of residence, and that you consent to the use of the Services by any minor dependents under your supervision.

To access certain features or make purchases, you may be asked to provide information such as your email address, billing details, and shipping information. You agree that all information you provide will be accurate, current, and complete, and that you have the legal right to provide it.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You may not transfer or assign your account to another person.

If you create an account to shop for minors or dependents, you are responsible for all actions taken through that account.

SECTION 2 — OUR PRODUCTS (RE-LIFED BOOKS)

Our Store offers re-lifed books to help support bringing new stories to market. Each book has been inspected and categorized according to the following:

• Like New: Minimal signs of handling. Clean pages and tight binding.

• Gently Used: Light wear such as small creases or shelf wear. May include former library copies.

• Well Loved: Noticeable signs of use such as creases, worn covers, markings, or library stamps. Always fully readable and structurally sound.

These descriptions are intended as helpful guides rather than exact specifications. We are always happy to provide photos of a specific book before purchase—just contact us!

All re-lifed books are final sale due to their unique, pre-owned nature. Please review condition descriptions carefully and reach out with questions before ordering.

SECTION 3 — ORDERS

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase products from Jacyn Press Inc. We reserve the right to accept or decline any order at our discretion. Your order is considered accepted only once we process your payment and send an order confirmation.

Because our inventory contains many single-copy items, availability is not guaranteed. If a book becomes unavailable after an order is placed, we will notify you and issue a full refund.

We may contact you if we cannot process, modify, or accept your order using the email, billing address, or phone number you provided.

SECTION 4 — PRICES AND BILLING

Prices, promotions, and discounts may change without notice. The price charged for a product will be the price in effect at the time your order is placed.

Unless otherwise stated, prices do not include taxes, shipping, handling, customs, or import charges.

Because re-lifed books, pricing may vary based on condition, rarity, or availability.

You agree to provide accurate and complete payment information, including updated billing details and payment card information. By submitting payment, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method and that your payment will be honored.

SECTION 5 — SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

All delivery times shown at checkout are estimates only and are not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs processing, weather, or events outside our control.

Once an order is transferred to the carrier, title and risk of loss pass to you.

If your order is delayed or missing, reach out—we are always happy to help track your shipment.

SECTION 6 — INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content made available through the Services—including text, images, graphics, video, audio, product listings, logos, trademarks, and the overall design—is owned by Jacyn Press Inc, our affiliates, or our licensors, and is protected by U.S. and international intellectual property laws.

You may use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, create derivative works, publicly display, republish, or exploit any content from the Services without our prior written consent.

Jacyn Press Inc names, logos, and marks are trademarks of Jacyn Press Inc. Shopify’s marks and all other logos or marks appearing on the Services belong to their respective owners.

SECTION 7 — OPTIONAL TOOLS

The Services may provide access to third-party tools that we do not control. These tools are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties or endorsements. Your use of optional tools is entirely at your own risk and discretion.

Future features or tools added through the Services will also be subject to these Terms.

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or materials. We do not review, monitor, or endorse these websites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or policies.

SECTION 9 — RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY

Our Store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the online e-commerce platform enabling us to sell products to you. All purchases, however, are made directly with Jacyn Press Inc, not Shopify.

You acknowledge that Shopify is not responsible for any issues arising from your purchases or interactions with Jacyn Press Inc, and you release Shopify from any related claims or liabilities.

SECTION 10 — PRIVACY POLICY

We collect and process personal information as described in our Privacy Policy [LINK]. Shopify also collects certain information in order to provide its hosting and e-commerce services. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand both privacy policies.

Your information may be transferred to Shopify or other service providers located in countries other than your own.

If you submit any ideas, suggestions, reviews, or other content (“Feedback”), you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, modify, publish, and display such Feedback for any purpose, including to improve or promote the Services.

We may remove Feedback that we consider inappropriate, unlawful, or in violation of these Terms.

Book reviews submitted through the Services may be publicly visible to help other readers discover new titles.

Occasionally the Services may contain typographical errors or inaccuracies, including in product descriptions, pricing, availability, and shipping information. We reserve the right to correct any errors, update information, or cancel orders affected by inaccuracies at any time without prior notice.

You agree not to use the Services:

• For unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purposes

• To violate any laws or regulations

• To infringe intellectual property or privacy rights

We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that information provided is accurate or complete.

Because re-lifed books are pre-owned, we do not guarantee their longevity, collectible condition, or suitability for archival preservation.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty limitations; in those cases, these limitations may not apply.

SECTION 16 — LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jacyn Press Inc and our partners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, service providers, and licensors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, or replacement costs, arising from your use of the Services or any products.

SECTION 17 — INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jacyn Press Inc, Shopify, and our respective affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims or liabilities arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.
