Anne of Green Gables is a 1908 novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery about a spirited orphan girl, Anne Shirley, who is mistakenly sent to live with a brother and sister, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, on their farm in Prince Edward Island. The book follows Anne's adventures as she adapts to her new life, makes friends, and eventually wins over the Cuthberts with her imagination and lively personality.
