Miss Nelson Is Missing! is a humorous children's book by Harry Allard and illustrated by James Marshall about a class of unruly students whose sweet teacher, Miss Nelson, disappears, only to be replaced by the very strict and nasty substitute, Miss Viola Swamp. The children's misbehavior leads them to miss Miss Nelson, and they work hard to find her, eventually leading to a lesson in appreciation when they are delighted by her return and the subsequent departure of Miss Swamp.
