Orphan Train Girl (a young readers' adaptation of Christina Baker Kline's Orphan Train) tells the story of 12-year-old foster kid Molly Ayer, who forms an unexpected bond with 91-year-old Vivian Daly while helping her clean out her attic for community service. They discover they share experiences as outsiders, with Vivian revealing her past as an Irish immigrant orphan sent West on the historical "orphan trains," a journey Molly, a Penobscot girl in the foster system, can understand.
