Skipping Christmas is a 2001 satirical novella by John Grisham about a couple, Luther and Nora Krank, who decide to skip the expense and stress of Christmas by going on a Caribbean cruise instead, only to face backlash from their community and a last-minute, chaotic Christmas when their daughter unexpectedly returns home. The story explores themes of materialism, community pressure, and the true meaning of family during the holidays. It was adapted into the 2004 film Christmas with the Kranks.
