The Lemonade War is the first book in the series, about siblings Evan and Jessie Treski who start a fierce lemonade stand competition to see who can make the most money in five days, which escalates into a full-blown "war" as they use increasingly unethical tactics and dirty tricks. The conflict is sparked by Evan's anger over Jessie joining his fourth-grade class, and their argument over who can make the most money is rooted in their differing strengths: Evan is people-smart but struggles with math, while Jessie is math-smart but not good with people. The story is told from both siblings' perspectives and uses business and economics concepts in each chapter.
